Family
Values

I feel grateful for the blessing of family. As an elected public servant, I will continue to prioritize the voices of not only individuals, but their families as well.  As a father, husband, brother, and son, I value the contributions of all families in this great city.

I would love to hear from you on how I can best serve and show that support.

Dedicated Public Servant:

I have a proven track record of service in the community through such roles as:

  • St Joseph Community Center Board February 2021 - August 2021
  • City Council (appointed in August 2021 - December 2022)
  • Planning Commission and Joint Planning Board (January 2023 - present)

Local Roots

My name is Jon Hazen, and I am excited to announce my candidacy for Mayor of St. Joseph. I grew up in St. Joseph from 1983 to 2001. After graduating with a BS in Community Psychology (emphasisin Behavior Analysis) from SCSU I moved back to St. Joseph. My wife and I bought a house in 2016 and grew our family. We are currently raising our four beautiful children, (Niko 9, Wes 7, Cal 4, and Helena 2). I love that they can grow up where I did.

I currently work for Granterion 3PL Solutions in St. Cloud. I am an Operations Supervisor, Project Supervisor and Business Development Supervisor.

I was first interested in our city and how it ran back in the early 90’s. My mother, Stephanie Hazen was the first woman elected to the St. Joseph City Council in 1990. Ever since then I have been fascinated by local government and serving others.

Community Involvement

I am actively involved in local organizations and volunteer groups including:

  • St. Joseph Dollars for Scholars, which I am currently the President. SJDFS started in 1996 by my father Michael Hazen.
  • St. Joseph Jaycee’s, where I have held numerous positions.
  • MN Coaches Association. I have coached diving for 24 years, 11 at CSB/SJU and 13 at various high schools around the area.
  • St. Cloud Chamber - Golf Open Committee
